Arkansas Razorbacks

THE ARKANSAS RAZORBACKS ARE AT IT AGAIN. THIS SEASON LOOKS TO BE A GOOD ONE WITH DARREN MCFADDEN THE PRESEASON FAVORITE FOR THE HEISMAN TROPHY LEADING THE TEAM.

THERE ARE SURE TO BE LOTS OF ACTION ALSO FROM FELIX JONES AND PEYTON HILLIS. HOWEVER, THERE ARE STILL THOSE FOLKS THAT BELIEVE THAT ARKANSAS DOES NOT HAVE A QUARTERBACK IN CASEY DICK. THEY BELIEVE THAT HE CANNOT GIVE US AN EFFECTIVE PASSING GAME AND THAT ULTIMATLY THAT WILL BE ARKANSAS DOWNFALL.

MANY BELIEVE THAT IF YOU CAN JUST THROW OCCASSIONALLY, THAT THAT WILL KEEP THE GREAT RUNNING GAME OPEN FOR THE GREAT BACKS THAT ARKANSAS HAS.

FOR A BRIEF LOOK AT THE FUTURE HEISMAN TROPHY WINNER - CHECK OUT DARREN MCFADDEN AT YOUTUBE.COM.

Macho Man

I am not sure why all of a sudden certain Google Ads show up at the top of my post. I am trying to figure out how to control that. I would prefer Macho Man ads or ads for real men show up.

Hope this does not offend anyone. I am working on it.

Hurricane tracks

I find myself watching the hurricane tracks of Dean intently. This is because it is headed for a resort area that was my home for a week less than a month ago. For some reason I find myself with an attraction to the area.

I especially find myself praying for those people that so graciously served me while I was there for meager wages. (See post "Appreciation for Mexicans") While we were there we inquired in the best way that we could in our broken spanish and their broken english about the well being of many of the souls who gave us the opportunity to visit. Many of these folks seemed confused but concerned about their eternal well being.

All I can do tonight is to voice another prayer asking God to spare lives as this terrible hurricane reaches coast south of Cancun.

Compareop.com - Online Pharmacy comparison

There is a great online Pharmacy comparison site that allows you to compare Pharmacies. Phentermine Indications are provided on this site as well as comparisons of other medications that might take the place of Phentermine.

The site tells you Pharmacy sites to avoid and those that ship or service your area. This site gives you tips to watch and know about if you decide to buy any of these drugs online. There is even a customer forum to discuss with others the uses, and comparisons of the drugs mentioned on this site.

You may be in the market for weight loss drugs or other such items. If yo are this comparison website would certainly be a place that you would want to visit.

The Cowboy Way!

It would be great to see some national attention to this great story. The National Chuck Wagon Races is a true success story and a story about giving others the opportunity to discover a different way of life.

Talk about a true Cowboy and the cowboy way of life -- Check out the founder and story about the National Championship Chuckwagon Races in Clinton Arkansas. Founder Dan Eoff is an interesting guy.

Also check out the Race Site and song about Eoff on their official site.

Retirees take on Wii Sports in Aussie TV show

Check out the retirees bowling on their WII

Wii Games

A new sport is taking America. This sport is bringing older folks off of the couch and into the video game era. I am one of those.

Recently we have discovered the WII which is the Intendo Video console that takes the gaming to a real moving, interaction level. The initial games has Bowling, Golf, Tennis, Baseball and boxing. In each of these you hold the controller in your hand and go through similar motions that you would in playing the real game. As you go through the motions, your activity shows on the TV screen, just as if you were doing the real thing.

With this different gaming leagues have sprung up across the nation. There are bowling leagues that meet in local taverns, and local homes. These leagues often times involve many people over the age of 50. The activity is enough for elderly persons to be involved but does not have the need for holding or throwing a large bowling ball. It is great exercise in the retirement homes where leagues have been started.

The golf allows you to get in 18 holes before breakfast or after the sun goes down. Yes, some of the graphics are less than ideal on the original games but I understand that these are greatly improved in the games such as Tiger Woods Golf.

This is all to say "move over" youngsters - let the games begin. ---By the way would you get me my walker!

Apreciation for Mexicans!

I enjoyed writing this and thought I would post on all of my Blogs. It originates on My Blog Hillbilly Willy and will also be on my blog Arkansas a Great Place to live.
_______________________________________

I was raised in the Panhandle of Texas in the 1950's - 1960's. Our farm was very much a cotton farm that in those days was labor intensive. This was much before the great cotton harvesters of today and the cotton harvesters of that day were initially Mexican labor - here legally- called braceros.

At the age of three or four years old an Old Mexican named Romaldo would allow me to sit on his cotton sack and he would pull me down the road. I was not a small child and this was not an easy fete. If you don't understand about this labor intensive job read this essay about "picking cotton"

Well, today I write, rant and rave about the illegal aliens in this country and how they are causing many problems with healthcare, jobs and many other aspects of American life. Many times when I discuss illegal aliens the Mexican population is mostly what I am discussing. The reason is that I have lived in Texas and now in Arkansas and the Spanish speaking people are very prevalent.

Well, in all of this I make a mistake as do many people of classifying all of these the same. The truth is that there are many Spanish speaking people in the United states that are just as legal to be here as I am. For this broad classification I apologize.

However, for all of those that are here illegally, I have no apologies. I simply say to them - get it right or get out. Illegal is illegal. If I steal, that is illegal and I pay the consequences. If you are here without the proper documentation or papers, that is illegal--pay the consequences.

Now to the other matter. I recently vacationed in Old Mexico. Because of American affluence we are sometimes able to have opportunities to go to things such as tourist resorts that are built in countries such as Mexico because of two things. Beautiful areas and cheap labor.

Well, as I observed Mexican men and women graciously waiting on me hand in foot for meager wages in a Mexico resort, it brought me to realize why they might possibly want to come to the United States. Where else could they have the opportunity to succeed and gain the wealth to be able to afford the type of luxury that they are giving to me.

The United States. They see this seemingly affluent life style and gain a desire to have a small part of it. They sacrifice even to the extent of being illegal to get what I appear to have.

As I proceeded out of the walls of the resort area on an excursion, I viewed the Mexican men and women at the end of the day, walking and bicycling across the road and into the Mayan woods to a small meager house with few amenities to spend the night so that they can gain some rest and come back and serve me another day.

This makes me have a greater appreciation for those here and there.

However, it does not change my mind about what is legal and what is illegal.

They need to get it right if they are going to stay.

Just a little seriousness on Willy's Part!
