Go Mike Huckabee!

Mike Huckabee has just pulled ahead of Romney in Iowa polls. His only challenge is to have the manpower on his small budget to continue to get where he needs to be.

But this attests to the fact that the largest budget is not always the only way to go.

Check out news about Mike Huckabee and get on the band wagon.

Also, if you want some good reading that will give you some insight into Mike Huckabee, try reading some of the books he has authored.

Smorty - Get Paid to Blog!

Smorty is a great new service that I have found that allows me as a blogger to make money doing what I do best. Writing about what I want to write about.

Smorty is a service that has been designed to connect advertisers and bloggers in a unique way that benefits both. Advertisers use the service to pay bloggers to write opinion posts about their product or site and provide links back to the advertisers site. Everybody wins.

As I stated earlier the bloggers get paid for blogging ...what they do best. The blog advertising, with links back to the advertisers site such, as this blog is doing for Smorty benefits both.

What can be more beneficial than a site like Smorty that allows me to blog for money while supporting blog advertising. One of the things also that I like about this site is that it appears to allow me the opportunity through email to be notified as soon as opportunities are available.

I am new at using this service but my understanding is that I will receive an email when opportunities and then it is first come first serve to get the opportunity. I then log in and the opportunities are listed for me to participate in. I choose what I want to blog about and create my opinion blog about that site.

After a certain number of days if my blog has not been reviewed it then becomes automatically approved. This way it does not sit forever before getting approved.

I see lots of things I like about this method of paying bloggers for their opinions.

Looks real good to me!

America - Giving Thanks or Thanks through Giving!

It is always great to see a nation seem to come together on a certain day of the year and give thanks. Yes, the day is Thanksgiving.

Sometimes I believe that we get the word backwards and believe it is only about Giving-Thanks. Yes, it is much about declaring what we are thankful for. But wouldn't it be great if we would practice the real word which is Thanks - Giving.

The emphasis here is on giving because we are thankful. It is great to talk about what we are thankful but it is greater to give because we are thankful.

The Bible says "Give because it is given unto you." It also says "be you doers of the word and not hearers only." Sometimes I believe that we like to hear our selves talk about how thankful we are when in fact we would'nt have to be so animate with our words if we more animate with our actions.

Yes, Give Thanks this week. But better than just that the next 52 weeks let people see how thankful you are by giving!

Find an Internet Provider!

Do you know how to secure a home wireless network?
Do you know how to discover a great internet provider?
Can you even imagine using an orbiting satellite to provide your internet service?

If you have any questions like these or many other questions of "how to" about the internet, internet service providers, DSL, Cable, or wireless networks...never fear there are websites with information such as Get ISP.Info. They can help you with these questions and help you find that provider that you need.

If you need this type of information or if you have questions or if you just need to find that service provider that is best for you and your internet needs, you need to visit GetISP.info. By the way - they even have a brief history of the internet there. Pretty interesting!

Make the visit and unconfuse your mind. You will be glad that you did!

Only in America - Huckabee's endorsments!

What do these three have in common?

  1. They are all very unique in their own sort of way.

  2. They are all avid outdoorsman

  3. They all support Huckabee.

Well, what more could you ask for now that WWE wrestler, Nature Boy Rick Flair has thrown in his political hat and will support Republican Presidential candidate Mike “I’ve already have support from Chuck Norris and Ted Nugent” Huckabee.

If you have "Walker, Texas Ranger" star Chuck Norris, hard-rocking hunting enthusiast Ted Nugent, and then wrestler Ric Flair, a.k.a. The Nature Boy, supporting the former Arkansas governor in his bid for the presidency, what more could you want?

What could be next - maybe an endorsement from Ricky Bobby

Randy Pausch - Dying with Notoriety!

In September Randy Pausch, a computer science professor at Carnegie Mellon University, gave his last lecture, telling the audience that he would soon die of pancreatic cancer. But those may not be his last public words after all.

As I have mentioned before, this is a great inspirational story of a dying man and his thoughts on life. Well, this lecture has springboarded him into the limelight and even as he has found that he is still dying, it might not be as quickly as he thought. However, he is still dying, but it is not without publicity.

Check out this article about his notoriety now from the New York Times.

America - Vote Right - Vote Huckabee!

MikeHuckabee.com - I Like Mike!
I expect that it will change the course of the campaign trail for me to make this declaration. I am off of the Fred bandwagon and on the bandwagon I should have been on all along.

The reason I had not jumped on with Mike before is that I did not think he had a snowballs chance to win. Well, it may still be a slim chance but it is better than it used to be. And yes, I have experienced Mr. Huckabee as a Baptist Preacher (a good one) Leader of the Arkansas Baptist Convention ( a good one) and a Governor of the state of Arkansas ( a good one.)

Mr. Huckabee lines up with my beliefs very well both as a Christian and as my beliefs about a nation - Under God!

I am for Mike. Jump on the band Wagon.

I am starting my own Blogroll of Bloggers for Huckabee. Click Here - give me your blog name and I will add you to the blog and give you the code to add it to your site.

Get on board the early train for Mike!

4-H Banquet- Were you in 4-H?

Within the capacity of my real job, I have the need to reach out to the young people of our area, especially as it pertains to Agriculture. Last night I had the great opportunity to attend the local 4-H achievement Banquet.
It was a very pleasant evening and very much a joy to see these young people so involved in not only agriculture related projects but projects of all kinds that fit many different skills, and interests.
I was a member of 4-H when I was growing up. Yes, that was so far back that it is hard to remember.... Back in about 1963. But I could still state the 4-H pledge with the kids last night.
Well, back then it was mostly animals and agriculture projects. Today it is computers, cooking, photography, public speaking, horsmanship, and oh yes, you still have some animal clubs.
My bet is that many of you were members of 4-H. Well, here in Arkansas they are starting a year long celebration of the 100th year of 4H in Arkansas.
Regardless of where you are at or any other circumstances, it would be nice if you could let me know if you were a member of 4-H growing up.
I would like to express to these kids that even Bloggers are familar with 4-H.
Leave me a comment!

See New York City with a City Pass!

New York CityPass sounds like a great idea. My wife and I have two free airline tickets to anywhere that a certain airline flies and New York City is one of the many options.

If we can make it to New York City then the New York CityPass will certainly be a thing that we will want to use. New York CityPass in that case would make a great affordable and unique gift for this Holidays to my wife.

I understand taht each booklet has a ticket to The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the new Greek and Roman galleries, Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), Guggenheim Museum and the American Museum of Natural History. Wow! What a great trip that would make. Plus, it also includes a trip to the top of the Empire State Building Observatory and a tour of the Manhattan skyline from the water aboard a Circle Line Sightseeing Cruise. All of this is supplied along with a map, public transportation information and insider tips on the best time to visit each attraction.

Since many of these are the things that my wife has mentioned..how could I go wrong.

I understand that CityPass saves time by allowing visitors to skip most main entrance ticket lines and it saves money, because New York CityPass is sold at 50% off the combined admission price. A New York CityPass is $65 for adults (compared to $130 price if the tickets were purchased separately), and $49 for youths 12-17 (a value of $89.50.)

The CityPass says that it has a Winter Special which runs December 15 to March 15. I can begin using my CityPass booklet December 15 or later and my booklet will be valid until March 15 giving us up to three entire months to use the six tickets in the booklet.

The CityPass even offers overnight delivery options and can come in an inexpensive gift wrapping state with a personalized gift card to my lovely wife. How can this be wrong?

Generosity of Bloggers

I was reading an article on blogger about the thousands of dollars that was raised through the efforts of bloggers. It never ceases to amaze me at the generosity of American people when they have a cause and a forum to present and fund their cause.

Thanks to blogger for representing this cause and thanks to all of those who helped fund the cause.

Maybe one cause at a time can be represented and we as bloggers can make a difference - one blog at a time.

What do you think.

Homemade Dinner - Mixer Required

We are now approaching my favorite time of the year, Thanksgiving and Christmas. One of the things that makes this time so meaningful is the fact that the goodtimes are surrounded by good food. Anytime Thanksgiving and food are mentioned, the memory of Mom's Turkey and Dressing comes to mind.

How great it would be to go back and watch her put together those great Thanksgiving meals, and you know that it could not have been done with out the use of a mixer.

Just think if she had the use of the Eclectrics® Mixer that is available today. You know the all metal stand Hamilton Beach® Mixer . Wow! That would have been great.

Yes, to watch her mix the cornbread the day before and let it dry out to be just right.

Then the next morning early as she puts the cornbread into a large bowl along with the broth off of the turkey. She would then mix in the sage, the nutmeg, some dried biscuits and put it under the mixer to give it a good spin.

The best part is when she would ask me to give it a taste. Yes that was great but just think, if she had the use of the Hamilton Beach® Stand Mixer how much easier that would have been.

Her old mixer was small and did not have much power, but this mixer has everything it seems. Just look what they say about it.

More Power*
-400 watts of power to mix even the toughest jobs like 9 dozen cookies
or 4 -1lb. loaves of bread

-Professional 2-way rotating head for thorough hands-free mixing

-High-performance electronics ensure constant power
Great Features

-12 settings offer more* mixing flexibility and precise control

-4.5 qt stainless steel locking bowl with handle

-Flat beater, dough book and wire whisk for versatile mixing

-2 piece pouring and splatter shield

Lots of features that the old mixer did not have.

Well, maybe I'll get my wife one of these Hamilton Beach® Mixer for Christmas. Then she can really get into the cooking spirit.

Ruby Ridge - Arkansas Rednecks - Scare Me!

I dont know all of the story of Ruby Ridge but I do know that it has to do with a bunch of Redneck Militia in Idaho and their distaste for the government. I just saw a Criminal Minds episode that took place in Montana which talked about it.

Well, that brings me to today. I had to go out and inspect some land in an area that I had always heard was a tough area. I had heard many times stories of people not coming back from that area. Well, the land I had to inspect was at the end of the road in that area.

I went to the end of the road, parked the vehicle and walked about a mile onto the property, not really thinking about anything.

Then, as I heard noise in the woods and possible deer or other animals, My mind begin to go towards the fact that it was almost deer season. Many a people will be in the woods of Arkansas next week, about 400,000 is the estimate. I begin to remember that many people try to get a head start on the season and how many people had been killed "accidentally" in the woods by hunters or by people trying to stop early hunters.

My mind continued to move in the direction of some fear. But that is crazy. I am just inspecting the property.

However, I finished my walk rather abruptly and made it back to my truck. As I was turning around at the end of the road, a SUV appeared out of nowhere.

"What you doing they asked." I explained my purpose. "Thought you might be hunting a little early" they said. "We dont take to that much in these parts"

Again, I stated my simple purpose was to look at the land for a prospective client.

I politely excused myself and got in my truck and drove off. They followed about two miles down the dirt road and then abruptly passed.

Why was I scared. I am not sure. Just a couple of good ole boys out on the backroads.

Wonder why their eyes were close together. Was that "Dueling Banjos" I heard.

My thoughts for now.

Spock - Search for your Friends

Spock is a free people and information search that is pretty cool.

What can be better that to be able to search people by name or by a "tag" consisting of a personal piece of information (e.g.Brown hair, likes Quiznos, etc). These tags can be created by the person or by other Spock members. If you are a member you can add relevant tags to people that will help others searches be more relevant.

You can voice an opinion about a person by voting for or against a tag(this includes pictures as well). Although this is not a social network they do have some capabilities such as messaging. Within a search result are links to a person's other locations on the web (e.g. homepage, MySpace, Wikipedia, blog, etc.)

A search that I completed was for my favorite country singer. To check out the site I searched for "man in black". Well, guess what result came back. Yes, if you are any kind of country fan you would know that Johnny Cash should be the answer.

Well, it did come back with Johnny Cash. The tag "man in black" was associated with him alogn with several other tags. However, I did not see a tag that indicated that Cash was an Arkansas native. Therefore, I added this tag to his name. Therefore, later searches will pick up on that tag.

Pretty cool!

Digital Pictures - Taken by Family

I have posted a couple of times advertisments for digital cameras. I thought I would back up my thoughts on digital cameras with these pictures.

These are all taken by me or my family. All but one are taken with relative inexpensive cameras. ..... Can you guess which one was taken with the high dollar camera?

Digital Cameras - A great Advance in Photography!

Being over 50, I can always say that I remember back when? Back when we didn't have many of the technological advances that we have today. One of the most amazing is the digital camera.

I have always enjoyed taking and displaying pictures. Probably never that great at it but always enjoyed doing it. Well, with todays digital cameras such as one like the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi Black (w/EF-S 18-55 Lens), getting great pictures has never been easier. Boy it would be great to own a camera such as that. I do enjoy my inexpensive digital, but one of the fancy ones would be great too.

The next step though is how to best retrieve or display those pictures. Yes, you can get them printed out or do the computer picture capture, but the best thing I believe on the market today is the digital picture frame . What a great gift for someone with an office, especially if they like to take pictures. This gives them the opportunity to display those pictures that they take or maybe even the pictures that there kids or someone else takes. What a great idea!

Here is what RitzCamera.com has to say Digital Cameras

Digital cameras were the #1 requested electronics gift for the 2006 holiday season, and are sure to be a hot item again this year. Every day, millions of people use their digital camera to capture family moments, important milestones, sporting events, or just the memories of a fun outing.

Check out this site and find out how you can enhance your Digital Camera Experience.

Hillary Plays the Gender Card!

Watching the news this evening and they were all about how Hillary was in a roundabout way using the fact that she was a women to play on the fact that all of the men were ganging up on her.

My thoughts are that she has very little womanly attributes that anyone would want to gang up on. It has been obvious throught out the campaign that she wants to look and act as manly as possible. Notice how she dresses all of the time. Dont see here in a dress very often.

Here are some of her more flattering pictures.

Wikinvest - a new investing research portal.

I am always looking for good investment information and investment websites. This has lead me to the fact that I have just reviewed - Research on Merrill Lynch - from WikInvest.com a new site that I have discovered for investment and reviews. Here is what I think.

First Wikivest appears to be very well organized and present a wealth of information for investment and research opportunities. As far as this article in general on Merrill Lynch - it seems to be very informative. First it gives a great background on the company. It follows that up with some idea about Merrill's investment strategies and revenue sources.

It not only gives that information in words but follows up with easy to understand graphs and tables. This re-enforces the information in a very meaningful way.

The article then follows up with the market and economic forces that are affecting Merrill Lynch and how that this impacts the company. All of this seems to be very indepth and more than you might find from the company in genaral.

In all I find the article very informative and find the site one that I will probably bookmark and use in the future for investment and market information.

Willy against king Google - Can you help.

I am trying his hand to re-establish something that I believe Google is manipulating - my pagerank.

Blog posts have written a couple of times about this and it seemed to help but I am trying now to prove that if Google has your number - they manipulate your site.

Please check out my post from my alter ego blog site Hillbilly Willy.

Help me prove King Google is manipulating.
