Hit by Market, Government, Google - Payperpost!

When the world crashes in it seems to hit from all sides. Here are the facts as Willy sees them:

WILLY HAS BEEN SPANKED BY THE STOCK MARKET, THE GOVERNMENT, GOOGLE AND PAYPERPOST - ALL IN THE SAME DAY!

The stock market and the government took about half of my 401K - Google killed my page rank on three blogs - Payperpost decided that one of my blogs no longer qualified - even though it is very similar to the others that they kept - just different subjects.

  1. Willy manages four blogs:
  • Hillbilly Willy - Fun Food and Politics - which on Sunday had a Google Rank of 3 and a PPP Rank of about 545. On Monday it fell to Google rank of 2 and PPP rank of 656 - All the while Willy was averaging at least 150 - 200 entrecard drops a day trying to build it up. Site has averaged 172 hits per day for past week with 201 on Monday - CRASH DAY!
  • Cooking With Willy - which on Sunday had a google rank of 3 and very high PPP rank now is a google rank of 2.
  • Life in America - Which on Sunday had a google rank of 2 and now has a google rank of 0 - it averages about the same hits and links as the blog above.
Someone help Willy sort this out!

10 - 4 Willy - I guess -

To Heck in a Handbasket!

I have always heard that something was "going to Hell in a hand basket" Never was sure what that meant until now.

That is what our economy along with our nation seems to be doing. We are going "south"

Or is it "down the drain"

Or some may say "down the tubes"

Or some may say "topsy turvy"

Or "Out of Whack!"

WHAT DO YOU SAY?

A Smarter Way To Buy Cell Phones

What would you think about getting the opportunity to have free Samsung phones.

Or maybe your phone preference is Motorola then you would be interested in free Motorola phones. Well, with this service the options are endless. Just think it could be free Nokia phones that you receive or it could be that you want a cool free Palm Centro. If you haven't tried one of those you should.

Although, I would prefer myself a free Blackberry Curve I can't see anything wrong with any of these or maybe even a free at&t phones.

Well, the service that I have used to be great. A cell phone could mess up just a little and you would get a new phone. Well, now it is a hassle. They want to send it off and give you a loaner and then it comes back and they say that nothing is wrong. Well, you then take it out and find out that it is still having the same problem.

Man all of this can be a hassle. However, if you have this kind of experience or story you should click on one of the links in this post. It will take you to a site that helps you decide what is the coolest phone for you and then helps you get that phone.

How great is all of that. Get rid of the hassle. Get rid of the hype. Just get what you want and how you want it.

Try it out! You will be glad you did.

Willy Explores America

Willy took a few days to explore the east coast this past week. Willy had not been east of the Mississippi except once or twice on plane to Disney World. Willy experienced Rhode Island and Massachusetts and in particular the high life in Martha's Vineyard. This is not real life - but it was fun checking it out.

It was somewhat like being on Fantasy Island. We were there only a few weeks after the summer crowds had left and the Island was very laid back but very expensive. The buildings and architect are neat and interesting. Visited with many friendly Yankees on the trip.

Back home and back to work.

A couple of pictures from the trip:

Please don't freeze!!

This blame computer is slow again! What can the matter be. I run all of the scans and the filters that can be thought of. I guess I am going to have to break down and get Windows Vista.

I hear that it works great, eliminates hangups and gives many great features that is not available on previous Windows Versions. Do you think that is really so.

Well, I understand that not only is it better but that Windows Vista. has a Small Business Assurance and responsive customer service team. What could this mean to me. Well, I will tell you what it could mean.

It is obvious that the worst times for a computer to freeze up is in the middle of that big project. Well, there you are almost through. The last brilliant idea is on the screen. Problem is you haven't saved in a while. What happens then. Wait - this sucker won't move. This thing is froze up. Must I shut down and risk loosing that last bit that I spent the last hour working on so brilliantly.

Kill the machine and start over. Sometimes you lose it all some times you don't. But I am seriously thinking about moving to Windows Vista. because I have been told that you can do away with a lot of this problem. Is this true. I don't know but I am willing to find out. How about you.

They say that a great part of this is the Customer Service offered by the Windows Vista team and their accessibility. That can be important when you have a problem. If you can't get to talk to anyone, you can't get anything fixed. Is that what you want. No - we need help.

So, all I can say is that Windows Vista is on my radar screen and probably in the near future. Do you think you are ready to make the switch?

If so the time is now and the place is here. Get all the info you need.

Hurricanes, Rain, Pain, Gain

The hurricanes
Cause much rain
The floods come
and cause much pain.

The Wind, the tide
The crazy ride
Some evacuate
Cant be late

Fema Comes to evaluate
Some hope to gain
Crazy in the brain

Water the Flowers

A water bearer had two large pots, hung on each end of a pole which he carried across his neck. One of the pots had a crack in it, while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water.

At the end of the long walk from the stream to the master's house, the cracked pot always arrived only half full. This went on daily for two years, with the bearer delivering only one and a half pots full of water to his master's house.

The perfect pot was proud of it’s accomplishments, fulfilled in the design for which it was made. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of it’s own imperfection, and miserable that it was unable to accomplish what it had been made to do.

After two years of enduring this bitter shame, the pot spoke to the water bearer one day by the stream. "I am ashamed of myself and I apologize to you."

"Why?" asked the bearer. "What are you ashamed of?"

"I have only been able, for these past two years, to deliver only half my load because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your master's house. Because of my flaws, you have to do all of this work, and you don't get full value from your efforts," the pot lamented.

The water bearer felt sorry for the cracked pot, and in his compassion he said, "As we return to the master's house, I want you to notice the beautiful flowers along the path."

Indeed, as they went up the hill, the cracked pot took notice of the sun warming the beautiful wild flowers on the side of the path, and was cheered somewhat. But at the end of the trail, it still felt the old shame because it had leaked out half its load, and again apologized to the bearer for its failure.
The bearer said to the pot, "Did you not notice that there were flowers only on your side of the path, and not on the other pot's side? That's because I have always known about your flaw, and I took advantage of it. I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we've walked back from the stream, you've watered them. For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate my master's table. Without you being just the way you are, he would not have this beauty to grace his house."

In God's great economy, nothing goes to waste. Don't be afraid of your flaws. Acknowledge them, and you, too, can bring something beautiful to the table
