Thanks for the post, Bernard Vasquez
I have been working with my mom for the longest time to get our finances back on track because it was really important to me that we were in debt forever. I really wanted to dig us out of this hole and make sure we were in a good financial position to send our kids to college once they got to that point… It was totally unacceptable to me to have thousands of dollars in credit card debt at this young of an age. Anyway, my mom helped me with things like Dish Network savings plans and setting a monthly budget we could work with. She also taught me how to save money in the kitchen which as it turns out is where a lot of our waste was going. I think it is important to note that if you are poor like we were you can't buy cheap things because inevitably they will break sooner than nicer things and then you just have to pay to replace them which costs you more money in the long run.
